OCMEA offers a scholarship grant to graduating high school seniors who are enrolled as a music major in a college music program. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
Attend a school that is a member of OCMEA.
Attend college in the fall semester, enrolled as a music major.
Successfully complete a juried audition.
Audition Requirements
Vocal applicants: perform two songs, one from the Classical or Romantic period, and one of the applicant's choice.
Percussion applicants: demonstrate ability on mallet percussion as well as another percussion instrument of the applicant's choice.
Piano applicants: perform selections from two contrasting periods.
Wind, brass, and string applicants: perform one solo representative of the applicant's performance level.
Memorizing is suggested, but not required.
Applicant must furnish accompaniment if music performed requires accompaniment.
At least two original copies of the music must be furnished to the audition committee.

B Sharp Music Scholarships
Mary and Sheila McGinty Piano Scholarship - $750 award for a graduating high school pianist pursuing music in college.
Robert Pecci Scholarship - $1500 award (each) to two college music majors.
Vera Brindisi Grant - For high school or college pianists to pursue advanced musical study outside of the local area - Award amount is requested by the student. (Sponsored by the Community Foundation of Oneida and Herkimer Counties.)
