Twelve Oneida County Musicians selected for 2021 NYSSMA Conference All-State Ensembles
Congratulations to the twelve Oneida County student musicians who were selected to participate it the 2021 NYSSMA Conference All-State ensembles! This festival weekend brings together the top-scoring student performers across New York State to work together with world-class conductors and clinicians. The students were selected as the most talented soloists from the spring 2021 NYSSMA Solo Festival.
The following students have been selected for the All-State Ensembles:
Meg Benson - Alternate, Mixed Chorus; New Hartford High School
Leah Borton - French Horn, Symphonic Band; Clinton High School
Aubrey Campbell - Alternate, Mixed Chorus; Proctor High School
Carson Cook - Tenor 1, Mixed Chorus; Whitesboro High School
Isabella Lambert - Alternate, Mixed Chorus; Whitesboro High School
Rosalind Lampert - Alternate, Orchestra; New Hartford High School
Riley Martin - Alto 2, Mixed Chorus; Whitesboro High School

2021 OCMEA Scholarship Winners Announced!
The Oneida County Music Educators Association is proud to announce the winners of the 2021 OCMEA Scholarship program, awarded to area seniors who are continuing in a music career. This year, the scholarship auditions were hosted in a virtual format. The winners are:
Rosee Head, violin - New Hartford Central School District
Evelyn Simanowski, voice - Adirondack Central School District
Haleigh Vescio, voice - New Hartford Central School District
Congratulations to all of the winners for such outstanding performances! We wish you nothing but success in the future, and are proud to have you represent Oneida County in your musical endeavors.
Four Oneida County School Districts earn Best Communities for Music Education Recognition
OCMEA is proud to have four school districts earn the distinction of a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. The 2021 winners are:
Clinton Central School District
Holland Patent Central School District
New Hartford Central School District
Rome City School District
The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
Thirteen Oneida County Musicians featured in 2020-2021 Conference All-State Performances
Congratulations to the thirteen Oneida County student musicians who were selected to participate it the 2020-2021 Virtual All-State music ensembles! This concert brings together the top-scoring student performers across New York State to work together with world-class conductors and clinicians. The students were selected as the most talented soloists from the 2019 NYSSMA Solo Festival, and Oneida County is proud to have so many represented at this conference.
